This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Philadelphia peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Came as a party of 3 (all of us are Indonesian) and were very happy to find the various selections on their menu. We ordered βBabi Kecapβ, β Nasi Rendang platterβ and βBakmi Kepiting.β SURPRISINGLY DELICIOUS AND CLOSE TO WHAT THEY TASTE LIKE back home. Itβs a nice comfort to find a taste of home in these meals.

While visiting South Philly, we originally planned to try another restaurant, but it was closed. We decided to give D'jakarta Cafe a try since it had great reviews, and we were genuinely surprised by both how nice the space is and how amazing the food turned out to be. Overall Ratings Atmosphere - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Food - 5/5 Parking - Street Parking Atmosphere - The restaurant is on the smaller side with limited seating, but it feels modern and thoughtfully designed. I especially enjoyed the artwork throughout the space. Service - We had the chance to chat with one of the owners and learned they have only been open for a couple of years. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, and I truly hope they continue to see the success they deserve. What We Ordered - -Chicken satay (Very good, with a peanut sauce that isnβt overly heavy or overpowering like at some places) -Beef rendang (An incredible dish. We were both impressed by how rich and flavorful it was) Final Thoughts - I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant if you are ever in the area.

Ordered to go. All the foods that I got was really good. The portions seems a bit small compared to other Asian foods that Iβve been to, maybe next time I rather dine in rather than take out. The person that was took my order was friendly.

You know it's authentic when most of the patrons are actual indonesian expats. The food is certainly the strong point. The satay were tender with food peanut sauce. The grilled fish is a mist try!! Crispy caramelized skin and excellent shrimp-paste chili. The sauteed bean sprout was fresh, delicious pairing with all the heavy hitters. The weakest link was surprisingly the fried rice, the flavor was not complex enough for Indonesian standards, in my opinion. But overall the food was excellent. The restaurant is small but the service is reasonably quick so there's a good turnaround. Very friendly staff. Parking is tough, of course because of the location and there's not a lot of parking facilities around. Tight Philly street parking as usual. They prefer cash payment but also accept credit card with a 4% transaction charge
